The role of the Federation IngeLySE is precisely to coordinate the vast range of competences represented by the laboratories of the University of Lyon, attached to the INSIS Institute of CNRS, and to interact disciplines among themselves to catalyze the emergence of innovations future.

Moreover :

• Highlight the identity of the Lyon-St Etienne engineering community from University of Lyon, CNRS, and the Region,
• Strengthen the interactions between Universities and the Grandes Ecoles in the field of Engineering,
• Strengthen the international visibility and attractiveness of Lyon-St Etienne in Engineering, 
  
• Define a common scientific strategy for the site, in terms of platforms, collaborative projects, pooling resources.
